He said this during his first media briefing after a month long detention in the custody of the security agency, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Ugochinyere said the security agency has not given him a cogent reason why he was denied his liberty and kept incommunicado for four weeks.
The youth president said his detention was against the letters and spirit of our constitution and democracy.
He explained that although he was detained, his spirit was not broken because the struggle is not about his person but the rights of Nigerian citizens especially the most vulnerable.
Ugochinyere said, “I have consulted with my lawyers and they are seeking an order of Court for the enforcement of my fundamental rights declaring my month long detention illegal and they are seeking for damages of two million naira against the SSS for the illegal detention and torture.
“I may have been out behind locked doors, but my spirit was high all through and my mind was free.
“The focus of my attention will now include the more, the fight against abuse of rights, unemployment and empowerment of youths.”
He wondered what will happen to the ordinary Nigerian if he could be detained without charge with authorities turning a deaf ear to all pleas, protests and demonstrations by concerned Nigerians.
