A 57-year-old man, Mr. Babatunde Aliu, has reached out to the arms of a law court to dissolve his marriage over infidelity charges against his wife.
The trader, on Wednesday, made it known during a court sitting in Abeokuta Customary Court, that he had not interest in continuing his 25-year-old marriage with his wife and begged that it be put to an end.
Speaking on his reasons, Aliu who is a resident of Adigbe in Abeokuta, claimed he not only had to put up with his wives promiscuity, but that she was also a very hot headed woman.
He told the court;
“I have caught her in an act of infidelity; she receives all kinds of text messages and makes calls to several men. “Please separate us; I am fed up.’’
His wife Rashidat, however, does not see the matter in the same light as he does. He denied the allegations he put against her, and begged the court to save their marriage.
“I love my husband; the messages were from my customers, I am not dating them. Please save my marriage from crashing.
“I promise from today that I will change from all my bad behaviour.”
The Court President, Mr. Titus Oluwole, held that there was still room for reconciliation. Oluwole appealed to the petitioner to be patient with Rashidat who, he hoped, would change.
He adjourned the case till February 10, 2014 for possible reconciliation.
